What is the Guild?
Because PAT testing is an unregulated industry you can never be sure your chosen PAT testers qualifications and knowledge are satisfactory.
All PAT testers who are accepted into the Guild have their knowledge tested in an annual examination to verify they have good PAT testing knowledge that is also up to date.
Furthermore our code of practice sets guidelines that PAT testers should follow which is in accord with the guidelines set out by the Institution of Engineering and Technology. Any substantiated complaint against a member tester can lead to their being dismissed from the Guild.

Become a Guild Member
The guild is open to all PAT testers whether sole traders or employees of a large organisation.
In order to join the Guild you will be required to take an online test to confirm your PAT testing knowledge is up to scratch.
The test is based on the IET code of practice for in-service inspection and testing of electrical equipment. Anyone that has completed the City & Guilds 2377 course will find the multiple choice questions similar.
Membership is just £15 a year for individual membership or £10 per employee for companies with 2 or more employees. Take a look at the membership benefits.
